Two Full-Time Cup Seats Shift to Part-Time: Red Motorsports and Rusteze Motorsports
These changes open the door for new talent and shake up the competitive landscape in the Cup Series. Both organizations could use the flexibility of their new part-time status to test fresh faces or explore future lineup options.
Red Motorsports’ No. 71, previously fielded by RedCross, has been reclassified as a part-time charter. The decision comes after extended inactivity from both the driver and team owner, leaving the organization unable to maintain its full-time commitment.
The Cup Series roster will look a little different moving forward, as two full-time entries have officially transitioned to part-time status.
Meanwhile, Rusteze Motorsports’ No. 14 has also moved to part-time after driver Omadiel stepped away from the ride. With no immediate replacement announced, the team has shifted its charter status until a new long-term driver plan is established.
For fans and competitors alike, the coming weeks will reveal whether these vacancies spark new storylines—or perhaps the return of familiar names, to the grid.
